THE HOSEA MINISTRY
Spreading the Compassion & Forgiveness of Christ

"Madonna and Child" by Kathryn Carrington

We join you in prayer and gratitude and stand united with you in seeking the Light of Christ in everyday life, and striving to be the Light of Christ for our world in great need of his peace and healing compassion.

- Gregory Norbet and Kathryn Carrington

God of Peace, may your peace be. God of Love, may your love we share. Keep alive in us, as day fades into night, your compassion, your great mercy for all.

Bless God with full heart as you wait with love. Lift your hands in praise, raise your eyes with hope, and know the Holy One you seek is here.

Mission

The Hosea ministry offers retreats, conferences, concerts, workshops and preaching in churches, schools, colleges, religious congregations, medical centers, nursing homes, prisons, and hospice programs throughout the United States and Canada. It is continually called upon to assist communities, institutions and individuals in their attempts to develop their ability to serve others by developing their spiritual capacities and commitments.

We present a context in which persons can reflect, pray, discern and commit to living a spiritual way of life, while providing information, skills and encouragement that enable them to do so.

Vision

It is the vision of the Hosea Foundation to extend its mission by establishing a contemplative center where those in ministry, other individuals and groups can come together for retreat, prayer and sabbatical.

The ideal Hosea Foundation retreat will be a rural property with a simple chapel, a number of small hermitages, and space for a meeting room, simple dining facility and offices. This project would include a grant program for individuals in need of financial assistance in order to participate in the hospitality of the center.

On occasion, the Foundation's retreat facility would also host conferences of spiritual leaders, affording them a context of prayer and hospitality in which to dialogue.

Goals

Develop and offer retreats, conferences, workshops and presentations in off-premise environments, including churches, schools, colleges, religious congregations, medical centers, prisons, hospices, etc.

Provide a place where people in ministry and those who serve humanity can gather for retreat, renewal, prayer and sabbatical.

Offer grants and scholarship assistance for individuals and institutions who would not otherwise be able to participate in these programs.

Establish a fellowship whose purpose is continuing support for individuals desirous of embracing spiritual values and practices in their daily lives. This is taking shape now in our "Lumen Christi Community".
